Done and Done! :)

It's done! Made it officially! It has been almost one month since the most critical point of my life has ended. Well, at least the most critical by far and probably more to come. So, what have I been doing all this time? Nothing exciting unless if you consider activities like catching up on series and lying around at home the most enjoyable time at the moment. Yup, enjoyable! I'm not even gonna take it back or replace it with some adventurous stuff. I like the peace and quiet. And it stays like that hopefully. :p

Well, this period of time was also about catching up lost times with people around me and people in my lives. A LOT of well spent times definitely! I felt like I lost my whole 5 years to education that I didn't realise I skipped one part of entertainment in the teenage going to adulthood phase. A lot of people see boozing and getting drunk like some phase they go through at that age but it looks like most of my friends in medical school and also other friends in the healthcare line experienced the same thing. We didn't get that kind of phase to think that it was lame to go there at a more matured age like now. Kinda new to most of us actually. Finally, this goody two shoes made a whole new exploration. I didn't get drunk although I do wanna know what's my limit to getting there. But, she ended up getting rashes and pruritus all over her body. -.-"

My plan next is to take Singapore and who knows maybe an island after this. Alongside, I will be working with all the paperwork for my future career. So long until next time!

The Last Minute Crazy Thing

Ever got a call from a friend to go on a road-trip at that very moment? Or was invited to go for a party at that instant when you didn't have enough time to even pick out an outfit? I guess everybody did. It can be fun but stressful for some. Hey, isn't this the part of your life where you go like, "I am in if you are"?  (Not everybody can take that time pressure, not everyone.:P)

Ling and I did that once on 13 December 2014. The string of events that happened before we arrived were not the as smooth as we thought it could had been but we made through it in the end. I thought it was worth the headache and talking. I realised that this was my first ever meeting someone popular and this isn't even a concert of any singers or bands, just the fellow Youtubers. So, what's the hype about it? I doubted myself about going actually but I guess I managed to take out the doubts at the very last minute and to start believing that I could do certain things.

We didn't get to meet the big stars but we managed to take a picture with a group local Youtubers. The Ming Thing! It was a humbling experience to meet someone who is known by others. The thing that amazed me the most was them being so humble too. They were the only ones who were willing to come over and take a selfie with us. Aww.. It is a rewarding experience to get to see them in person. I finally got to say I have met some people. :)

This was written way back then on 13th January 2015.

The Can't-haves

It was the usual day of going to work in a workplace so mundane that many had left. It had her thinking for some time, thinking whether it was time. The time to leave the place for the better as they had always told her about how it was greener on the other side. Better payroll, healthier workplace and probably a fairer chance for opportunities, but all these were not guaranteed. Being the less of a risk taker person, she never dared to make such drastic change in her life.

She knew there was a couple of things to consider before making one of those lifetime changing decisions. First, her family and second, herself. When it came to family, they were her everything. She would want to spend most of her time with them even if it was just for a meal at home. Home was the one of her getaway places. A cozy place where all troubles in life seemed to go away for that moment allowing her to be herself finally. She was always on make-up wearing the outfits for the people. Everybody loved her being beautiful as she was a pleasant lady to gaze at. Never was she herself in any way in that place.  Nobody knew what she really wanted to be. Plus, nobody would have figured that she was a lazy girl with no intentions to hold a brush or mascara. She liked her bare-faced look wearing tanks or big-sized t-shirts, paired with her home shorts. Home was the place where no acting was required out of her. Being herself was being loud and speaking her mind. Feeling comfortable was lying down on the couch while watching television. The life itself was luxurious without anything extravagant. She decided that she would rather stay here for her family and also for herself to live happy.

He on the other side of the world, had problems from within. Always felt lesser than anyone else. Never had the guts to speak up or even speak to strangers. He wished he had someone to talk to but not just anybody. He wanted someone who could speak in the same context and more importantly without the language barrier. Nobody understood how it felt like living in a world where you could physically fit in but not in language terms. He was the one who never mastered his own mother tongue. Always trying to catch up with the language which made him felt so far away from everyone else. Hoping that someday he could finally bring himself to speak with confidence. Someday he will make something big out of his life.

The Talentless Girl

It is said that everyone is special in their own ways and we all have that one thing we are good that. You're either the guy who can run really fast or the girl who plays a musical instrument. But the thing is  not everyone is someone who can sing beautifully or someone who can solve a rubic cube in a minute. What if we are just plain and ordinary? Or what if we can do a lot of things but just not so good at it? It takes interest, hard work and training to do these things I guess.

This is one tough question for me 'cause really, I'm just not good at one thing. But Ling and I are pretty good at games like boggle and crash bandicoot, a playstation racing game. Talented much? I guess Ling could use her art skills and drawings. Her handwriting is also neat and nice, better than mine. And hula-hooping! This girl used to hula hoop forever before I get my chance to hold that hula hoop for as long as 10 seconds.

I don't have much talent to brag about. I can play chess and badminton but it's not like I am good at it or anything. Futsal was just a one moment thing in KMK. Congkak was okay but because I take a long time to count and yes, I count, it's frustrating to play against me. I can play card games like Cho Tai Tee and Ngau but that's it. Batu Seremban, wow such memories! Those days after exams in primary and secondary school. Not forgetting that I played in KMK and also once in UKM. Surprisingly, I was playing with the psychiatric patients and their family members. In UKM, I started debating but I wasn't like super good or the best kind of speaker. And that's about it I guess.

Still the untalented person. I know a couple of things but there's no one thing that I am really good at. People in my school days would have thought of me as the brainiac or the smart one so it's completely understood that my talent was being in that position. I think life has more things to offer than just these.
Maybe and just maybe I haven't found mine yet.

For your information, I have been trying out swimming lately and hopefully cycling but it's gonna take time. I don't know whether I have said this before in any blog posts but I am gonna say it again. You know people say that you can't forget a skill like cycling. When you've learned it, you will know it for the rest of your life. That is untrue or it's just me losing coordination and balance after a long period of time. I used to cycle independently without those baby wheels but I fell when I tried cycling in KMK. :/

How it all started

To think of it now, I started this blog years ago, almost 4 years if I am not wrong. I started it off so that I can write my own opinions on anything around me but mostly, updates on my life..but as you can see, it is not working as how I envisioned it to be..and now, it got me thinking what it is supposed to be then?

I used to see this blog as a platform for my sister and I to voice out our opinions and talk about things around us since we were very VERY shy people. We weren't the most extrovert people you know. Honestly, we might even be considered boring and naive people when it comes to a lot of things such as the best books to read, fun things to do around friends, talking to people who we know but aren't that close with...and the list goes on. Because of that, we choose to be quiet..very quiet to the point where other parents think that we are the "goody" kids..haha. Yes, we were those kids who wanted to play with the other kids so badly but both of us were too afraid that we choose to sit on the couch quietly together. Unlike other kids who chose to run around the house and break the rules, we followed the rules and dare not break any of them.

As we grew older, we took notice of things like making friendly talks to people, entertaining other people by responding to them and starting conversations with people around us. We weren't good at all these and mostly, the both of us would even take turns since we are always around each other. The world seemed to be bigger than we knew it and we realized that we had to break out from our comfort zone (being together all the time).

Around the time when this blog started, my sister and I had the chance to break apart from one another. I wasn't used to it at all when we went separate ways. I guess we both realized that it is nice to have someone around all the time even though it might be boring because everything we talked about is more or less the same thing..haha. However, it is different now, we have our own stories to tell and we often looked back to those times. We don't even talked to one another all the time anymore. So, this blog turned to be our secret hide out..haha...shhh..

This blog started off with me being the active one and it slowly turns to be ours and now, my sister is the active one. By active, I mean the blog posts that are posted...;p It is funny to think of things you initially started and how it has turned out to be now.

Retreat. Lost. Withdrawal.

If you asked me whether writing this post is a retreat from what I am actually supposed to do now, then the answer is yes! My finals are around the corner and yes, it's always at the time when everyone else had their exams done with. So, a week of supposed CNY holidays and then 2 weeks to go. I am really praying hard to pass this one.

Met up with my long time no see KMK sisters. Yay finally! So much for lost times and got some updates from them about their lives. Not much of updates from me compared to the rest of them. Well, I have given some thought to this and I guess maybe because it was hard for me to fall for someone. Yea, pretty much like that. Don't get me wrong. I know I am attracted to guys but hey it doesn't come often.

Some found love but some lost it. That's life isn't it? Some things are meant to be told because it brings so much joy and happiness. But some are just kept in the safe place in your heart so that it doesn't remind you about the bad things that happened. And all you want are the good memories from those times. Maybe I should call it the lost times.

The lost times are the past and to think about it again and again won't change anything. It will just hold your heart from moving and worse, paralysed with time. So heartless. Sometimes it all comes back in flashes like how Taylor said it. Those of which I would refer as withdrawal symptoms. Makes you wanna come back for more because it feels so good.

Those lost times and withdrawal symptoms are said to fade with time. I have seen people who have successfully gone through it so many times. Truthfully, I don't know how they do it. This is a piece of note to those who are going through this emotional period of time because I know some of you are going through this too. It helps a lot to talk to someone with a similar experience. Trust me it does.

But until then, staying single gives you the advantage of searching yourself. Parts of you, you never knew. Most importantly, be yourself and love the people around you who needs your love. :)

Just another interesting fact, did you know that family who often sit in a roundtable having meal together have closer bonds? Kinda true looking at my own. It's kinda rare to even have the whole family to start with. Just a Chinese New Year thought.

Time to get uncomfortable

That's when we went to Meeples with Yeng. The picture is just a random one. :)

Now that Ling is back at US, we all go back to our old routine including Ling who hates to get back to reality apparently. Don't worry. You'll do fine. :)

Lately, I have this thought of travelling to places. It's kinda odd for a girl who used to hate travelling a lot. For someone who has lived with motion sickness, it's really quite scary to think about transportation when travelling really far. I dislike travelling by buses, air planes and to a certain extent, ferries. Sometimes, travelling in a car makes me sick too. I hated the journey to Fraser's Hill and Genting Highlands. I found out that I don't feel sick when I am the one driving though. There's a medical explanation for that. Lol.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to finally travel to places and I'm eyeing on Europe (although I won't be going there anytime soon, probably few years down the road) Hehe. Yes, I was pretty much influenced by my friends who travelled there. I know what's running in Ling's head now when she reads this. YES! :P

But, that wasn't the sole reason for me. I used to think that it's really a waste of money to go travel but now, I just feel like enjoying life and do something out of my comfort zone. Yes, I will accept the challenge to feel uneasy while travelling. They say if you want to change, you have to be willing to be uncomfortable. :)

Now that I am back

Yes, I am back for 2 months and I will be going back to Ann Arbor soon in two weeks time. That is pretty damn fast. I am back for an internship in Sime Darby. Although the work here is slow, the people are really nice. I met up with friends from high school and college. And mostly, spend my time with my mum and sister. For the most part, we eat and shop. :P
Hey, did I mention that I was trying to lose weight? I even went to gym but stopped for almost two weeks now..:(  Anyhow, I managed to lose some weight..expected to lose more though. Oh well, life moves on even if I get fatter. Yea that is all from me.

Anyway have a look at this link. I find it true in some ways. :)

Time to age

My mum thinks that I should start being more like a lady. Yup, that means wearing dresses and make-up. Not that I don't or never wear them, just never had these habits like other girls do. I do like dressing up but sometimes it's really about the mood and of course the occasion.  Sometimes, I just don't feel like putting on a dress 'cause it's not right. (If you girls get what I'm saying lol). Maybe I like plain and simple but yea that's just me not wanting to admit to my mum that it's kinda troublesome wearing dresses 'cause it feels so restricted in it. Yes, I also need to learn how to walk like a lady. :P

Now about the make-up, I never really like them. Why go all the trouble putting powder on your face and worry whether it's evenly applied or not? Or taking hours to draw lines at one of the most sensitive areas of your eyes? It may seem nice or worth it but the thoughts bothering me the most would be, why are girls expected to use cosmetics at a certain age? It's not sad to see even young girls like teenagers have also started using them, not wrong truthfully but it's the idea that subject girls to somewhat achieve a standard of looks which is accepted by society. Probably this is why girls are so concerned about their outer beauty.

I personally do think that physical appearance does affect the kind of impression we portray ourselves to other people. This applies to guys too but somehow the effect of the societal perception is just more prevalent among girls.  Just me suddenly having my moments as a feminist.

Wearing make-up does make one look older in my opinion lol. And after getting a remark from a sales assistant in a boutique saying that I look like a Form 5 kid to her, I think it's time to agree with my mum that I should try wearing make-up just to look like my age. I wished I was 18 but I'm not. Just listen to my mum then. :)

Friends

Well, I have been watching Friends again and again and so, I thought I might as well post something about it. For me, it is the BEST sitcom ever even until today, there is no other sitcom that is funnier and more authentic than Friends. I was a fan of Friends since when I started watching it in high school with my sister..hehe. I wished that it could be re-filmed again..it's impossible because the actors and actresses have aged but who knows? :P
I even have a poster of Friends in my room. I don't think I will ever be bored of watching it again and again and now, I am caught up with Friend's memes in 9gag...this is real addiction..phew....

One of my favorite scenes of all time..LOL!

Purest of Pain

I heard this nostalgic song when I was having dinner. Googled it up and found this cute video. I knew this song because of a TV series, Mis Tres Hermanas which was showing during my primary school. I heard the Spanish version first which I thought was nice. There is a version in English and even in Malay! Not a perfect video but definitely one of the cutest. :)

And the thing bout Maple Story, thanks to my brother for making both my sister and I addicted to it at one point of time lol. It was because of our brother, we get to play Ragnarok, playstation games and also computer games. Kinda nice although it sort of turn us to tomboys when we were young. Miss those times!

Carta Hati

This song is nice! Honestly, I don't usually listen to Malay songs but of course, I have a few exceptions and this is one of them. I came across this song when I saw one of my schoolmates posted up a video of her own cover which she sang it pretty well so I started google-ing the lyrics and found this! The lyrics is so sweet. Local music can be as nice as other music from other big regions. We just need to give our own music a shot to make its' way there. :)

Pat's Cooking

I have been cooking this few days. Attempted to prepare mee soup with rice cooker. Ever since, every meal I make has always been solely on rice cooker. Lol. So, here goes my second chapter of Pat's Cooking. :P

The anchovies my mum bought for me. Hehe..

My third attempt of making sui tan. Okay I guess..lol

Trying out the anchovies with rice. Nice.:)

Pat's Mee Soup. XD

Pat's Mantou. XD

Yummy!

The messy pot.

Ta-daa!
Again, I would be happy to get advice and if possible recipes too! *A hint to Ling* ;)

Who's cooking? :P

Yay! It's finally Raya so that means holidays for me! And guess what? I have been trying to cook for the past few days in my college and it's for real. That was my first time making a meal. (excluding the times I helped my mum and Ling out) And yes, it is as shown in the picture above. Rice and the-supposed-sui-tan. (steamed egg) The rice was a bit wet. Too much water I guess. As for the egg..ermm.. I didn't know I was supposed to add water so yea, it didn't turned out to be as smooth as it should have been. Lol. Oh well..better try next time then. Ate it all up with a tin of Ayam Brands sardin in olive oil, whatever that's called. Hahaha... basically wraps up what I did for my first cooking.

Then, I decided to make up for my failed attempt. So, here goes nothing. My second attempt was still not so good. :P

The rice was too wet. Too much of water again.

Decided to try making omelette this time. Turned up to be tasteless.

The back-up dish to compensate for the tasteless dinner. Not forgetting the soy sauce and pepper. Lol.

Finally, nothing was left in the end. *burps*

More attempts to come and I believe there's always room for improvement. If there's anyone who is willing to take me for cooking lessons, I would be happy to have you to teach me. ;)

The Man

I'm probably not the best person to refer to when it comes to English Literature but I gotta admit that there was one point in my life where I actually had a thing for poems and also for those beautiful pieces of work. I still remember some of the poems and short stories we've learned in secondary school. Yes, I do. And after reading this, you'll probably be like, "What?!"

Call me a nerd. Well, maybe I am one after all. Lol. Because we all remember interesting stuffs. It's in my head because I thought it is really meaningful. I kinda held on to some of the values in it and even till today, I still try to. :)

It is a poem from a father to his son. If by Rudyard Kipling. Go google it! It certainly brought back memories of my old school days.

The Little Things

We have always lived our lives with expectations whether it's with our own expectation on ourselves or with others' expectations on you yourself. With all these expectations, things could get really tough especially when you don't live up to it. Hahaha.. But the point is, are these expectations the things we hope for ourselves? Twisted but think about it. ;)

We get so caught up with these expectations sometimes and we forget about the little things around us. Those little things around you would have probably mean your family and friends. Yea, they seem too little and unimportant for a moment when you had to deal with your own problems in life which seem a lot bigger than anything else. Yea, I know how it feels like.

I'm just saying that probably we should start looking for what we really want in our lives before it's too late. I wouldn't say I have done enough to appreciate those little things or found what I really like to do. Sometimes, it takes one to learn it the hard way. I probably haven't seen the big picture and when I do, it's probably the turning point in my life.

And now this post took away on a serious note. Lol. Life is short. There's a Chinese version of saying this, just translate this, "In our lives, how many decades do we have?" Yes directly translate it. I would have translated it to Cantonese because I got this from a TVB series and my mum kept saying it. Anyhow, it means the same in any language.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yes, it is the 'LOVE' day today!! :)
Anyway, this will be a short post because I have an exam tomorrow!

For the past few days, the 'Mulan' song was singing in my head..then I started listening to other songs in that movie..later, a friend suggested more Disney songs. And here goes, the 'Aladdin' love song in which I find it very suitable for today. <3

Enjoy the video below too y'all! :)

I wanna believe in it. :)

So here goes another year for me and Ling. How do I feel? Not very excited about getting older. 21? It's only the age for me to be able to vote and go gamble. Lol. Don't think I would ever gamble anyway. And here comes commitments and responsibilities. :/ Can I stay as 20?

Still, I wanna believe in things children believe in. Fairytales and happy endings will do. I wanna still be naive and childish. :P

I guess I sound quite irresponsible saying this but it's just life. Gotta move on in life and make the best out of it! One more thing I learned is that the best people in my life will always stick to me no matter what and for that I wanna thank you all. Thank you for being there for me and also for making my day especially on this day. This is sincerely from the bottom of my heart. I know I'm not a very expressive kinda person but really I mean it. Thank you! :)

And of course, Happy birthday again Ling! :D

An early new year post

Since I'm rather free and awake at the moment, I will do the new year post. Ling, have fun in Disneyland and Miami ya! Waiting to hear stories from you! ;)

So, what's interesting here in 2011 before we talk about 2012? There are many interesting things:

Becoming a sophomore (only the fact that I can see myself more matured and believe me, it does scare me sometimes. Lol).

Catching up with good old friends and spending time with new ones. Yup definitely nice. The times at Modiva although I am not into alcoholic drinks, I just like to meet up with the long-time-no-see people. Little did I know that many of my school friends could drink already. I mean they have tried many times. Haha! And the times I spent with the debaters for Secret Santa and also at Beatrice's house. It makes me feel so attached to Christmas somehow. And at this very moment, the UKM teams are now in Philippines fighting all out in World's! *keeping my fingers crossed for them* Talking about UKM, I had a great time with my gang. All the times we spent for birthdays and also outings after end of module exam were splendid! And to people who are dear to me, thank you for making my day all the time and for all the little things you have done. I appreciate it a lot. :)

Here comes 2012,

Many people say it's the end of the very world we live in. Somehow, I don't feel like it is. One because I have things to cherish here. Second, I was too caught up with my own things and forgot about the worldly matters. LOL. But still, what would be the last thing you ever wish for? Or what would you do to make no regrets in living?

Not that I have thought much about it but yea something to think through and I think it helps in making new year's resolutions. I'm still thinking about it. Have you? I do know one person with a very nice list of resolutions already. It kinda drives me to think about my own. :)

Post its in action!

I saw this cute little mario when I was about to walk down the stairs in the Undergraduate Science Building in UofM and this reminded me of the movie that I have watched on the plane back to the states!! All thanks to post its!! This is like a coincidence..pretty much made my day..haha!

Mario made out of post its:

There is a part in which the guy had made a smiley out of post its!!
